Officials robbed Vanderbilt in loss to Florida

Is this the SEC official who missed the blatant pass interference on Gators' safety Pop Saunders against Vanderbilt receiver Jordan Matthews?

Can you imagine how Gators coach Will Muschamp would have erupted if his team had been robbed by the officials like Vanderbilt was on Saturday?

Vanderbilt had rallied from a 17-0 halftime deficit to within 26-21 with just more than 10 minutes left. Vanderbilt quarterback Jordan Rodgers, brother of Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers, was absolutely shredding Florida’s defense in the second half.

With 6:08 left in the game, Rodgers lofted a long pass down the field toward Vandy receiver Jordan Matthews. That’s when Florida safety Pop Saunders blatantly shoved Matthews in the back to keep him from catching the ball. And here’s the most criminal part of all: The SEC official didn’t throw a flag.

I’m not saying Vandy would have won the game, but Florida had shown no indication that it could stop Vandy late in the game. And here’s the part I don’t understand: HOW IN THE NAME OF TIM DONAGHY CAN THE OFFICIAL NOT MAKE THE CALL? The non-call was even worse considering the Gators went into the game as the most penalized team in the country and were flagged only three times for 17 yards. In contrast, Vandy was penalized 12 times for 106 yards.

If you don’t believe my description of the controversial non-call, watch the video below and give me your opinion.

Was Vanderbilt robbed or not?
