Jacory Harris has another big day for Miami

"I mean, how well is he playing right now?" UM coach Al Golden said. "He's making good decisions, he's managing the game, he's not getting sacks or turning it over, he's finding a myriad of receivers, guys out of the backfield.

On Saturday, Harris joined Ken Dorsey as the only QBs in Hurricanes history to have more than 8,000 career passing yards. Harris now has 8,097. Dorsey's school record is 9,565.

Harris also moved into a tie for fourth in theACCfor career touchdown passes thrown all-time (68). He's eight behind formerNorth Carolina StateQB Russell Wilson. Harris has 18 touchdowns compared to just four interceptions this season.

"This is his best season I think he's ever had," backup QB Stephen Morris said. "He's done a tremendous job leading this team and the offense…and his touchdown-to-interception ratio is out of this world. He's doing everything right."

Otto, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, played at UM from 1957-59 before spending 15 seasons with theOakland Raiders. He addressed the team following Friday's practice.

"I had a great opportunity when I came here as a football player," Otto said. "I tried to convey to the youngsters (Friday) what a great opportunity they had for a great education and possibly the opportunity to play pro football.

Otto, 73, said he's become a fan of first-year UM coach Al Golden because of the energy he's brought to the program.

"I've watched UM on television so far this fall and watched them on the sideline," said Otto, a 12-time All-Pro and member of the AFL All-Time team. "(Golden's) got a lot of energy. He knows what he's doing … He's going to be very good here."

• Ford's 1-yard touchdown catch from Harris on the opening drive of the game was the first TD scored by a UM tight end in the past 20 games. Ford also had the most recent TD, scoring against Ohio State on Sept. 11 of last year.

• LB Jordan Futch left the game with a shoulder contusion. The senior starter watched most of the second half with his jersey and pads off and ice wrapped around his right shoulder. Golden said he thinks Futch will be OK to play againstFlorida Statenext Saturday.

• JuniorMike Jamesrushed seven times for 59 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for 43 yards. His 32-yard run on a direct snap from the Wildcat formation tied a career-best – also against Duke – and his 36-yard catch was the longest of his career.

• Freshman WR Phillip Dorsett caught his first career TD pass – a 2-yarder from Jacory Harris in the second quarter. Dorsett threw a touchdown pass againstVirginia Tech.

• UM's defense came up with two turnovers in the fourth quarter: safety Ray-Ray Armstrong made his first interception of the season and Olivier Vernon recovered a fumble.

• Seantrel Henderson got his first start of the season, taking Jon Feliciano's spot at RT. Feliciano missed his second straight game because of an ankle injury. Golden said it was a game-tiume decision to hold out Feliciano, but that he should play against FSU.
