IUPUI hosted Pitching, Catching and All-Skills camps during January
INDIANAPOLIS - Head Coach Maggie Calcaterra and the IUPUI softball program recently hosted a pair of clinics, drawing more than 100 participants to campus over two different weekends. On Saturday, Jan. 22, Calcaterra hosted her annual Pitching & Catching Camp inside The Jungle, before overseeing the All-Skills Camp on Jan. 28-29.
The camps were open to girls of all skill levels, aged 5-18.
The IUPUI Softball Camps have become popular among the Central Indiana softball community, routinely drawing 50+ participants per session. Participants are given individual instruction from college coaches and players, and then given the opportunity to display their skills during drill work and small competitions.
For information on future camps, contact Calcaterra at mcalcate@iupui.edu .
The Jaguars will open up the spring season on Feb. 12-13 when they take part in the Belmont/Hampton Inn-Brentwood Spring Tournament. IUPUI will play Austin Peay, Wright State and host Belmont twice during the two-day event.
