Twickenham date in 2012

A Test against England, with the Hillary Shield on the line, has been confirmed for the World Cup-winning All Blacks on next year's end-of-season tour.

The Rugby Football Union announced that the All Blacks would the last of four nations to play the beaten quarter-finalists at Twickenham in November and December.

England also plays Fiji, Australia and South Africa before taking on the might of New Zealand on December 1.

The All Blacks are scheduled to play three Tests on their northern hemisphere tour, which are yet to be confirmed.

They will be defending the Hilary Shield, named in honour of the late, great New Zealand Sir Edmund Hillary who conquered Mt Everest in 1953.

It has been won on all three occasions by New Zealand.

"We have managed to keep possession of the Shield so far – but like any other opposition you cannot take a battle against England for granted," New Zealand Rugby Union chief executive Steve Tew said.

"The adventure of rugby on the field when these two sides meet is a fitting tribute to a great adventurer and a great New Zealander."
