Well, this is new: The hotly anticipated Pearl District spot Oven & Shaker — a collaboration between Nostrana's Cathy Whims, ChefStable's Kurt Huffman, and Aviation gin's Ryan Magarian — has announced two opening night dates via discount site LivingSocial's new "Gourmet" hub.
Oven & Shaker will debut in the former Bella Gioia space on November 22 and 23, with recipients of the Gourmet e-mail given exclusive access to the spot's opening night cocktails and tasting menu (for a $65 reservation). The announcement also reveals major menu details: In addition to Whims' Neapolitan-style pizzas, expect dishes like arancini; a "Southern-inflected" ham plate served with pimento; pork meatballs with pine nuts and tomato; and "mini mozzarella sandwiches with anchovy-caper salsa."
