East Carolina-UTEP Preview Capsule

The Miners are looking for their first home conference win after losses to Houston and Southern Miss. UTEP is also running out of chances to become bowl eligible. East Carolina needs a win to improve it chances for a sixth straight bowl bid.

East Carolina's offensive tandem of QB Dominique Davis and WR Lance Lewis against beleaguered UTEP defense. The Pirates are 10th nationally in passing offense (312.4 ypg). Davis is 18th nationally in total offense (293.7 ypg) and Lewis is 12th in receptions per game (7.5). The Miners gave up 405 passing yards and 671 total yards in last week's 41-37 loss to Rice.

East Carolina: Freshman LB Jeremy Grove is seventh nationally in tackles with 95 through his first eight games.

UTEP: Travaun Nixon had 11 tackles against Rice after missing the previous four games because of injuries.
