Eagles' O-line is Week 11's Top Protector

A lot of people looked at the Eagles' 17-10 win over the Giants and credited the defense -- and rightly so -- but the offense played pretty well. Vince Young led the Birds on a game-winning marathon of a drive but it was the offensive line that gave him plenty of time.

For the second time this season, the Eagles offensive line was selected as the Top Protectors for Week 11 by Hall of Fame coach John Madden. The Eagles were also selected in Week 8. They are the only team to win the honor twice this season.Madden selects the top offensive line each week of the NFL season. The NFL's best offensive line by the end of the season will be announced at Super Bowl XLVI and will receive the third annual Madden Protectors Award.

"For the Eagles to win they needed to protect Vince Young, and they did a great job of that against the Giants,” Madden said.

Against the Giants, the Eagles' O-line allowed one sack and it anchored the game-winning 80-yard drive (18 plays) that took 8:51 off the clock. Howard Mudd's line of Jason Peters, Evan Mathis, Jason Kelce, Danny Watkins and Todd Herremans were able to handle the tough Giants' D-line.
