ESPN to spotlight Oklahoma Sooners in preseason TV special - Oklahoma City Oklahoma Sooners | Examiner.com

The Oklahoma Sooners will get a lot of national attention after ESPN announced on Thursday they will document the Sooners football team in a broadcast called “College Football Special: Oklahoma All-Access.”

This is the same series that showed last year on ESPN when the network followed the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Oklahoma All-Access will be broken in two 30-minute episodes beginning on Tuesday, August 23 at 6:00 p.m. CT. Also shown will be a five-part series on "College Football Live," "SportsCenter" and other ESPN platforms of 30-minutes each from August 15-19, all at 4:30 p.m.

The University of Oklahoma Sooners football team will provide ESPN with a behind-the-scenes look as the program practices and prepares for the 2011 NCAA football season. It will include team practices, team meetings, activities on campus and more.

Filming begins at the University of Oklahoma on August 3.

ESPN describes the show in this manner: “Each episode will be presented in the players’ and coaches’ own words as Oklahoma begins its season and what it hopes will be a quest for a national championship. ESPN will go behind-the-scenes to take fans inside the Sooners, both on and off the field. In 2010, head coach Bob Stoops led Oklahoma to a Big 12 Conference title with a 12-2 record, concluding with a 48-20 victory over Connecticut in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.”

It will also be aired at the following times:
