Something for the Weekend | JOE's 5 for the Bank Holiday Weekend

Welcome to the weekend. Whether you are staying in or heading out we've got it covered. Time to leave the working week behind with our top 5 picks.

Enjoy the Limitless possibilities of Bradley Cooper on Blu-ray

Bradley Cooper takes a pill that could best be described as 'Viagra for the mind' and his ensuing brain boner turns him from a schlubby writer into a Wall Street-conquering titan in Limitless.

Boasting a surprisingly good performance from Robert De Niro (an extremely rate sight post-1995), this is hardly high art but the ingenious concept will keep you entertained from start to finish.

Watch the best of the League of Ireland challenge for the Dublin Super Cup

With this week's Audi Cup (Bayern Munich vs Milan, Barcelona) and the weekend's Emirates Cup (Arsenal vs Boca, PSG), it's easy to roll your eyes at the meaningless sight of these friendlies in all but name.

However, when a cup comes to Ireland, surrounded by genuinely fantastic teams (Inter Milan, Manchester City... ahem, Celtic), it's easy to get excited, especially as the League of Ireland XI get to challenge the European giants. There's plenty of different packages available this weekend, so make sure you're there in the flesh when Mario Balotelli attempts another moronic backheel.

Make sure you have a stitch to wear and go out to see Morrissey

He may not seem like the friendliest musician in the world but he's certainly one of the most talented. This weekend Morrissey takes the show on the road to Vicar Street and tickets are still available. Prince and Morrissey, just a couple of days apart? We truly are spoiled.

America, f*ck yeah! Enjoy the patriotic antics of Captain America

The final piece of a puzzle that begin with 2008's Iron Man, Marvel Film's Captain America: The First Avenger is more than just a final trailer for next summer's multi-superhero epic The Avengers, it's an old-fashioned, crowd-pleasing blockbuster in its own right.

Considered one of the most difficult heroes to bring to the big screen (blame the cheesy name/costume), Captain America passes all tests with a classic-flavoured, retro action and a fine performance from lead Chris Evans. Forget Thor and Green Lantern, this is the best superhero film of the summer.

Find out if Prince will actually show up this time for his Irish gig

As crazy as he may be (stating that the internet is "over" or trying to get any images with his face removed from fansites), the musical genius that is Prince is one the few icons in the industry who can give as great a concert, or even better, than he could 20 years past - as anyone who witnessed his stunning Super Bowl half-time show in 2007 will confirm.

This weekend, the purple one takes to the stage at Malahide Castle and barring any customary last-minute cancellations, it should be a show for the ages. There's still time to pick up tickets, so hurry up.
