The Progressive Village Performance Network Presents Summer Night Live

By Westmont Special Events Today at 11:07 a.m.

Directed by: Sally Cassaro, Robert Kosson, Scott Lyons, and Robert Plowman

Westmont, IL-Over 40 people, ranging anywhere from 8 to 80 years old, showed up at auditions when an open casting call went out for this year’s Plays in the Park series hosted by The Progressive Village Performance Network. Those cast in this production range from experienced actors, who have a world of theatre experience at 8 years old, and some baby boomers, who have never performed in front of a live audience, before.

The show consists of a series of one act plays and skits that range from 5 to 20 minutes in length. These shorts consist of the zany comical scenes to the heartwarming and tender stories, and are appropriate for all audiences. A team of directors, consisting of Sally Cassaro from Aurora; Robert Kosson from Brookfield; with Scott Lyons and Robert Plowman hailing from Westmont, chose and directed each of the various productions.

This is the second Plays in the Park presentation by PVPN, and they were thrilled with the turnout by the original production, that is was a “no-brainer” to repeat this event. Audience members are encouraged to enjoy a night of the “Ravinia” experience by bringing their lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets for a night of comedy under the stars.

The event is FREE and will be performed on August 12th at 6pm and August 13th at 2pm and 7pm, at the main gazebo at Ty Warner Park, located on the corner of Plaza Drive and Blackhawk, in Westmont. Log on at www.pvpn.weebly.com or call the Westmont Park District at 630-969-8080, for more details!
