Daily Kos: State of the Nation

If you think there’s too much politics, too much petty bickering, and too much putting party over country in our nation’s capital, well, you’re right. We’ve still got some work to do to make Washington look a little more like Montana.

But from cracking down on Wall Street and insurance company greed to cutting taxes and creating jobs for Montana families to repealing the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, we’ve gotten a lot done.

And just this weekend, the Senate unanimously voted to pass a food safety bill that keeps our families safe while--thanks to an amendment I fought for--making sure Montana's family farms and food producers don’t get regulated to death.

All these victories were made possible by hard work and a refusal to give in to "business as usual" in Washington. And that’s how we’re going to win a victory of our own.
