High school girls basketball report for Dec. 29

BOARDMAN 45, LAKE 42  Brooke Meenachan scored a game-high 23 points and the visiting Spartans outscored Lake, 19-8, in the final quarter to win this Federal League matchup. The Blue Streaks, who led 22-13 at halftime, were led Tana Bornstein’s 11 points.

MASSILLON 42, OLMSTED FALLS 30   Massillon’s Antionea McElroy scored 15 points to lead the Tigers to a comeback victory on the road.

The Tigers trailed 21-16 after two quarters, then got hot. They outscored Falls 9-3 in th third to take the lead, then held the hosts to six points the rest of the way.

Sami Wise contributed four points and eight rebounds for Massillon.

ST. THOMAS AQUINAS 49, ROOTSTOWN 41   Six Aquinas players scored six points or more, as the Knights’ balance won this consolation game at the Rover Holiday Tournament. Sam Film and Theresa Flamos each scored nine points to lead Aquinas, which outscored the Rovers, 18-5, in the third period.

LOUISVILLE 55, CARROLLTON 38   Brianna Libertore had 14 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and three steals to lead the Leopards to an NBC victory over Carrollton.

Louisville outscored the Warriors by three points in each of the first three periods before pulling away by holding the hosts to three points in the final quarter.

Taylor Lowdermilk led Carrollton with 14 points. Liza Kirk also scored 10 for the Warriors.

WEST BRANCH 45, MINERVA 37   West Branch held Minerva to nine points in the first half and the Warriors went on to win in NBC action. Tia King led West Branch with 12 points and Kelsey Loiselle added 11 points.

Chelsie Butler showed the way for Minerva with 14 points.

JACKSON 52, SALEM 24   Jackson held Salem to four points in the first half as the Polar Bears won on the road.

Paige Hill had 19 points and six rebounds for Jackson.

FAIRLESS 44, TIMKEN 32   Katie Rush finished with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Falcons to a win on the road over the Trojans in PAC-7 action. Kelsey Yoder added 10 points for Fairless. Alahna Singleton led the Trojans in points with 17, while Keondra Hunter led in rebounds with 10.

MANCHESTER 83, INDIAN VALLEY 24  Manchester outscored Indian Valley 51-6 in the first half and the Panthers went on to win and remain unbeaten. Manchester improved to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the PAC-7.

Brooke Tabaka led Manchester with 15 points. Angie Durgala added 14 points. Ashley Crossland also scored 13.

TUSKY VALLEY 59, CVCA 53  Senior Shannon Watson finished with game highs of 28 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Trojans to a PAC-7 win at home.  Paige Ricketts added 14 points, including 7 of 9 free throws, for Tusky Valley. Cassandre Wilson led the Royals with 17 points and five rebounds.

TRIWAY 56, TUSLAW 52   Brooke Ehmer tallied a game-high 19 points for Tuslaw, but the Mustangs fell short at home against Triway.

Mallory Stauffer and Lori Inkrott led the Titans with 13 points apiece.

Tuslaw got 14 points from Marshay Maston and 12 rebounds from Taylor Richardson.
