Crawford treats Ray employees to lunch - MLB - SI.com

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Carl Crawford has left Tampa Bay for Boston, but he hasn't forgotten a group of people who helped make his nine seasons with the Rays a success.

The four-time All-Star who agreed to a $142 million, seven-year deal with the Red Sox this month picked up the tab Wednesday for lunch at Tropicana Field, where about 150 Rays employees feasted on a barbecue meal the Gold Glove left fielder arranged to have delivered to the home of the AL East champions.

Crawford, who didn't attend the lunch, was the longest-tenured Ray in franchise history. He is a four-time AL stolen base champion and hit over .300 five times with Tampa Bay.
