UEFA May Propose Summer Season for European Soccer to Coincide With World Cup Schedule

European soccer could be facing a major overhaul,at least according to rumors put forth by Germany’s Bild newspaper.

Liverpoolfc.tv reports that the German newspaper claims to have obtained leaked documents by UEFA president Michael Platini containing plans of analleged proposal to alter the European domestic season, which would involve playing World Cup or European Championship games in November and December and using the time from when the playoffs are over to mid-January for the players to rest. The regular season would run from March to October.

These rumors surfaced just after a FIFA executive committee member proposed moving the 2022 World Cup in Qatar from summer to winter due to health concerns over playing in the country's hot climate.

According to thetelegraph.co.uk, UEFA officials have denied any scheduling changes, saying that are currently no concrete plans to revise the international match calendar.
