Kelly Kavanaugh touched in a restart in the 44th minute to send West Morris to a 3-1 victory over Mount Olive yesterday in Long Valley.
Julie Shields flicked a feed with her head that Megan Monaco converted into a goal in the 10th minute for West Morris (1-0). Less than four minutes into the second half, Kavanaugh finished a restart by Kristy Cotter, as Cotter served a 40-yarder that Kavanaugh redirected into the far corner for a 2-0 cushion. Alison Schroeder pared the deficit in half for Mount Olive (0-1) when she scored on a 20-yard restart. Jessica Angle added a goal for West Morris.
