Is serial arson suspect behind crimes in other states?

Police said a man they believe is behind four arsons in a Cornelius neighborhood could be behind similar crimes in other states.

Bobby Prevatte is accused of setting four homes in his neighborhood on fire between December and August -- all along Meadow Crossing Lane in the Glenridge community, according to WSOC-TV.

Officers arrested Prevatte Friday afternoon and charged him with four counts of arson and two counts of burning personal property, the TV station reported.

"I'm very sad for him that he has to do something like what he did - destroy peoples lives and put a whole street, a whole neighborhood, in fear. We were all living in fear," said neighbor Jackie Barker.

"We were out in our driveways just shaking and crying." Barker said.
