The Tim Tebow Era Begins As Denver Visits Miami

It’s not enough Tim Tebow was named starting quarterback after last game but he also has to go to Miami and show up for a Florida Gator celebration.

Tim Tebow has helped a possible sellout crowd in Miami.  Not only are the Bronco faithful elated, but he’s getting a hero’s welcome from his home state.  If that isn’t a recipe for disaster I’m not sure what is.  All eyes will be on this young man to replicate his heroics at Florida while giving the Bronco faithful new hope.  There is probably as much pressure on Tebow this Sunday as he’s ever experienced in his career.

Miami is winless so it looks like a good way to start for Tebow.  The only problem with that theory is Miami hasn’t really been blown out in games, just fell short in the end.  They have always seemed to be in arms reach of victory only to let it slip away.  Sounds familiar doesn’t it?  The Denver Broncos are also in that mix.  Denver and Tebow, need a win today to give the fans at least a glimmer of hope.  A loss this week wouldn’t help Tebow in the least, and hurt Denver’s hope that things can improve.  This is a pivotal game looking toward the future.

For the Broncos to win today Tebow must not let the obvious hype the Dolphins are sponsoring, rattle him or his resolve.  John Fox must alter the offensive game plan to suit Tebow’s strengths.  With Denver trading Brandon Lloyd, Demetrious Thomas needs to come in and prove he isn’t another draft pick worthy of landing on Josh McDaniels scrap heap of draft choices.  He needs to prove he’s the real deal, and not another complete mistake.  Tebow also needs to throw screen passes to keep the defense off guard looking for him to run.  Tebow adds a new dimension to the running attack and look for Moreno to catch passes out of the backfield.

So, who do I think wins today with so much on the line for both teams?  Look for a ineffective and nervous Tim Tebow in the first half, and then rallying in the 3 rd and 4 th quarter to bring the Broncos back within victory.    I pick the Broncos on a furious rally 24 – 23 and effectively eliminating them from the Andrew Luck sweepstakes, and offering no definative answer at the future of the quarterback position..
