Iverson ready for challenge in Vegas

ALLEN IVERSON is still not worried about practice.

Iverson announced the rosters for his Las Vegas Superstar Challenge, scheduled for Nov. 12 and 13, and was asked whether he would be practicing to get ready for the event.

"I didn't come here to talk about practice," he said, laughing, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "I'll have enough workouts to make sure I come here in shape and ready to play."

Iverson is hoping the tournament can serve as an audition to get him back in the NBA, but if the lockout ends, the event could be canceled.

The event will feature two games on Nov. 12 and a championship game on Nov. 13. The winning team receives $100,000. The games will be played under NBA rules with college referees at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Iverson will captain "Team A.I.," which features the Sixers' Andre Iguodala and Thaddeus Young, Kevin Durant, Paul Pierce, Joe Johnson, Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph and Jamal Crawford.

Team Philly will be led by Hakim Warrick, who was instrumental in the charity Battle for I-95 game last month at the Palestra. Also playing are Tyreke Evans, Jason Thompson, the Sixers' Lou Williams, and the Morris twins, Marcus and Markieff.

The Rookie team features top pick Kyrie Irving, along with Derrick Williams, Kemba Walker and Jimmer Fredette. Team Harrington, led by Al Harrington, will feature C.J. Watson, Monta Ellis, David Lee, James Harden, Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.
