Dye foundation offers scholarships

The Jim and Betty Dye Scholarship Program offers four-year, undergraduate tuition scholarships up to $3,000 per semester to seniors from high schools in Lake and Newton counties who will attend Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana University Northwest, Purdue University West Lafayette, Purdue University Calumet, IUPUI, or Ball State University.

Applicants must possess a minimum combined SAT score of 1650, a GPA of 3.25 or better, and be admitted unconditionally to one of the above universities. Applicants also must demonstrate school and community involvement and a desire to return to NWI after graduation.

Also available is the Jim and Betty Dye Non-Traditional Student Scholarship Program, offering half-tuition scholarships to undergraduate students attending either Indiana University Northwest or Purdue University Calumet. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen residing in Northwest Indiana; a graduate of a Lake, Newton, Porter, or Jasper county high school and must not have completed any university classes within four years of high school graduation.

They must also have completed a minimum of 12 undergraduate credit hour at IUN or PUC; have a cumulative GPA of 3.0; and not be the recipient of any other scholarship awards or tuition reimbursement program.
