Ted Lilly

attended the funeral of Cubs legend Ron Santo in December and the former Cubs starter talked about the longtime broadcaster again Friday.

"Just the energy that he would bring … you could feed off," Lilly said. "I think he intended to leave that for everyone. The positive energy that carried with him is still around."

Overheard: Cubs players and their fans have endured raw, wet weather much of this month at Wrigley Field and haven't suffered injuries because of the adverse conditions.

"We're healthy … knock on wood … and that's for sure," manager Mike Quade said after his team played in Friday's 37-degree wind-chill factor following a 1-hour, 14-minute rain delay. "I think the field has played well."
