The Ministry of Environment in Qatar has announced its support as the Official Sponsor for 'Qatar International Environment Protection and Sustainable Energy Exhibition & Conference', ecoQ, which is taking place from the 16th to 18th of October this year at Doha Exhibition Center.
The announcement came during a meeting held recently at the Ministry attended by Dr. Rashid Al Kuwari, Associate Vice Minister for Environmental Affairs, Mr. Muhsen Al Khayarin, Deputy Head of Communications and Public Relations, and from the ecoQ organizing committee, Haitham Shehab, General Manager of Stallion Advertising and Exhibitions - ecoQ Expo organizers - and Ahmed Adel, Public Relations & Communications Manager for ecoQ.
As the Official Supporter for ecoQ, the Ministry of Environment will provide consultancy, expertise to the event as well as suggesting the conference agenda, topics, and speakers. The Ministry will also provide a guideline for the ecoQ committee to insure that the technologies presented are matching with the environmental standards.
Dr. Rashid Al Kuwari said that the Ministry of Environment supports initiatives and events that aim to create awareness about protecting the Environment, "The Ministry of Environment is committed to work within the frame objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, which environmental development is an integral pillar."
Dr. Al Kuwari pointed out that the Ministry of Environment endeavor to balancing the requirements of development and growth whilst protecting and preserving the environment: "The Ministry of Environment is on the main front in facing the rapidly increasing environment challenges; however, it is essential to coordinate efforts with other interested organizations and institutions particularly during the coming years as Qatar is preparing to host major global events." He added.
Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Saif Ali Al-Hajari, Founder and Chair of Friends of the Environment Center (FEC), Head of ecoQ's Advisory Committee said he is pleased to welcome the Ministry of Environment as the Official Supporter for ecoQ, pointing that the civil society organizations are supporting the government efforts in protecting the environment. Dr. Saif also stressed that more efforts and campaigns are needed to increase environment awareness.
"Protecting the Environment is an ongoing national and international objective which requires sincere interest from all segments of the society, companies, government institutions, NGOs, families and individuals. There are several initiatives contributed to the reduction of environmental damages as well as encouraging the adaptation of positive environmental attitudes and behaviors. We support and praise the leading role of the Ministry of Environment in dealing with the current and future environmental issues that we all started to see its results now," he added.
Dr. Saif also called for each family to teach by example the love of environment to children in order to create and maintain a solid foundation towards an environmentally cultured society and sustainability.
ecoQ Expo & Conference which is taking place 16th to 18th this October at Doha Exhibition Center, is supported by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, AHK German Delegation for Industry and Trade and the Friends of Environment Center. ecoQ will showcase latest technologies and products from different green sectors such as: Solar Energy, Green building, Sustainable cities Architecture, Energy efficient industrial products, Energy saving technologies, Water treatment and desalination technologies, Sewage treatment, Industrial waste treatment and pollution control technology, Solid waste disposal, recycling Technologies, Air pollution treatment, e-waste, Marine protection and reservation, Vessels waste treatment technologies, Anti-pollution and noise technologies, Eco friendly agriculture technologies and products, Eco friendly transportation, Aviation & Aerospace Bio-fuel, Eco-friendly cooling systems, Sustainable energy technologies, eco tourism, organic farming, environment consulting firms & regulators, environment and renewable energy research centers. ecoQ is also planning a number of events and campaigns in parallel to the expo in order to increase public awareness on environmental issues.
