ABC News’ Mary Bruce ( @marykbruce ) reports:
President Obama will spend his day in Michigan focusing on energy and the economy and his evening fundraising in New York.
This morning Obama will travel to Holland, Mich., to tour Johnson Controls Inc., an advanced battery facility.
The president will make remarks highlighting “the key role innovative technologies will play in helping automakers achieve the historic fuel economy standards, establishing U.S. leadership in advanced vehicle manufacturing, spurring economic growth, and creating high-quality domestic jobs in cutting edge industries across America,” according to the White House.
The president will then travel to New York City for two DNC fundraisers before returning to the White House late this evening.
