SALEM - Jesse E. Allison, 82, of Salem, Ohio, died at 7 a.m. on Friday, April
15, 2011 at the Canterbury Villa in Alliance.
He was born Feb. 5, 1929, in Beaver County, Pa., the son of the late Paul W. and Catherine (Thompson) Allison.
Before retiring in 1988, Mr. Allison had worked at the Chrysler Corp. Twinsburg Stamping Plant as quality control supervisor for 25 years. He had been an area resident since 1950 and was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and a life member of the Salem V.F.W. Post 892.
Jesse served with the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army.
His wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (Mingroni) Allison, whom he married Aug. 29, 1953, survives him along with two sons, Dr. Michael G. Allison of Dallas, Texas and Patrick A. Allison of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Debra A. (Bill) Kneifel of Hebron, Ky. and Roseanne A. Maish of Cincinnati; a brother, Gil Allison of Plant City, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
A brother, Wes Allison and two sisters, Ruth Heller and Georgia Paris , preceded him in death.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Robert Edwards officiating. Calling hours will be held at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
